Senior C++ Developers

Overview

OpenYield is creating the next generation automated marketplace for trading fixed income securities. We are a technology forward firm looking for experienced and talented C++ developers who share our passion for technology and trading and taking on a challenge. You will have the opportunity to design, implement, test and deliver on all aspects of the emerging platform, including working on the marketplace itself, utilizing the latest low latency technology, networking and open-source tools, to generate high-volume and large-data models, integrations with partners and in expanding our business offerings. This is the chance of a lifetime to get in on the ground level.

OpenYield is a new venue for trading fixed income that is defined by an equity-like protocol and support for minimum quantities. The marketplace bundles rich features, such as data, to reduce the cost for brokerages to support bonds. Initial distribution is focused on delivering liquid corporate credit to retail fintech wealth platforms. The founding team has experience in 0 to 1 build outs for bond trading platforms and retail brokerages, and has managed trading desks on both the buyside and sellside.

Qualifications

● Strong practical knowledge of C++ programming skills, especially using modern C++17 and C++20, to create reliable, performant and scalable applications

● Familiarity with wireline protocols, multi-threading, real-time and distributed software systems, algorithms and data-structures

● Exposure to high-performance and low-latency software development

● A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field

● 7+ years of related work experience, including the design and successful shipping of mission-critical product

● Ability to take on projects and drive them through to completion

● High degree of organization and follow-through with meticulous attention to detail

● Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing

The following experience/attributions are a plus

● Some exposure to other languages and desire to learn them, such as Rust, Ruby, Go or Python

● Demonstrated experience operating/scripting in a Linux environment, working with databases and in working with a large code base

● Experience working in a high-reliability, fast-moving technology forward industry such finance, telecoms, or space

In accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role is $125,000 to $200,000. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
